Temperature monitoring software

hi,

I've recently built an extra PC with some fairly old components. The BIOS reports my cpu is idling at 14 degrees but it doesn't have a reading for the mobo. It is a Biostar motherboard with an micro atx form factor and has a athlon x2 3800+.

I dont know how accurate this particular motherboards temp sensor is, but can anyone recommend me some freeware temp monitoring software that runs in windows? if it can also monitor fan rpms then thats a bonus.

thanks

hi

I'm using a Win7 sidebar tool for that: IntelCoreSeries by blog.orbmu2k.de.

Lists cores, core load, core temp in F or C. It's using a driver called "WinRing0 Driver" that comes with it and needs to be installed for the sidebard gadget to work properly. fan speeds cannot be monitored.

further I'm using a similar sidebar gadet to monitor my GPU: GPU Observer (also downloadable at blog.orbmu2k.de) it can display fan speeds, temps, voltage, load, clocks if supported by the card (works for AMD and nVidia).

have fun
