temp problem 4790K

hey guys if got a bit of a problem i got an high temp issiue with my 4790k

components
asus maximus formula vii z97
i7 4790K
Corsair vengence Pro 2133mhz
Inno 3dgtx 780
Corsair h100 + noctua nf f12's push mode ( max speed)

room temp 20 /22 celcius

on my i7 950 on 4.0 ghz and 1.2875 volts i didnt came higher then 82 celcius
i cleaned the cooler with 96% alcohol and the cpu re aplied thermal paste (zm-stg2) had nothing else let is sit for 3 days and i overclocked it

im running now 4.6 stable at 1.2 volts in the bios i run prime 95 for a few hours and looked at my temps it stays at 60 /75 but then it bumps up to 99 / 95 and for a few min then it drops back to 60 /75 what can be the the problem here is it the thermal paste or do i have a bad chip

normaly the temps cant even go to 99 celcius with 1.2 volts and a h100

not asus ai suit sais its always 4.603 / 4.597 ghz volts 1.99 stable in cpuz

for temps reading i use HWmonitor

when its stable and its not dropping the Frequency its a Software fault, dont worry about it then

yeah but the point is the temps how can it get hit the 99c mark on 1.2 volts

ai suite 3 says 87c and hw monitor 99c /95 on all the 4 cores

it is a Software fault, your HWmonitor reads your Mainboard wrong
my old amd said it was 10°C at idle wich is completely wrong

Thats because of hardware, amd does not directly measure core temperature thats why. its very innacurate at idle.

Intel's is much much more accurate

running occt now for 10 min and it never came above 78C on 1.2 volts only on prime 95 i get those high temps with in 2 min it bumps to 99 / 100 c for 1 min then it drops back to 75 /80 with occt my temps r alot more stable
i think prime 95 couses high temps lets run occt for a hour and see if it hits 100C again there r more 4790K users with a hight temp problem they send the chip back for rma
