Tablet as a 2nd monitor ?

I'd like to get a smaller 2nd screen mainly just for news, Emails, Messaging etc... and plonk it next to my main screen but the problem is I don't want anything bigger than 12 inches and I would like it to be as slim as possible.

Would a tablet with HDMI out be able to be used in this instance ?

Any advice is appreciated

I think the Key word is HDMI out, i'm fairly certain It can't work both ways mate.

I'll have a quick look and see if i can find any small monitors though.

I might mod the frame and change it to a nice matt black instead of gloss

Also I'm not too keen on having lettering on the frame of monitors, Ruins a nice clean look IMHO.

awesome idea that mate id been thinking of the same sort of thing but why matt black frame? its so over used and harder to clean a matt paint finish

I've never minded AOC tbh. Always served me well at a great price. Can understand wanting to keep it clean though.

The review seems solid enough, good to assist with a laptop. not really sure with a pc

An android tablet can be useful for a secondary screen via the aid of an app. Uses the home network, server on PC etc...

But I would assume that this solution is probably best for a temporary fix rather than a more permanent one.

Why do you hate Apple? If you had invested in Apple a long time ago, you'd be quite wealthy now, why hate that?
Or is it the fruit that you hate? Or the record label?
BTW I just finished with a Hackintosh build that is awesome. Great OS

It's not the OS it's the price of Apple stuff i.e the hardware is stupidly overpriced for what it is but lets keep that to another thread and stay on topic.
