Supermicro board problems

RadeonHDx

Firstly, I have bought a Supermicro x8dti along with 2x Intel Xeon E5649's.

I have followed all of the installation steps as listed in the PDF user manual but to no avail as I cannot get the board to power on in any way. I have plugged in the 24 pin and the two 8 pin CPU power connectors.
I get no beeps from the speaker and no LEDs light when the power is plugged in.
I have tried installing only 1 cpu at a time and tried each DIMM slot with at least 2 different kinds of RAM with different speeds and voltages.

I hope someone will be able to help me as I have a whole build planned around this platform! Thanks

Have you checked if the RAM kits are supported by the CPU and board?

At this point I have managed to get the board to power on and get fans spinning but depending on what slot I have my RAM installed into will depend on if I also get 3 short beeps and 1 long beep which indicates a memory issue.

The memory appears to be supported as on the data sheet for the motherboard it says that Non-ECC unbuffered RAM up to 48GB is supported and on the Intel site, the E5649 is just listed as having ECC memory support with no mention of non-ECC.

Right, so not to revive an older post but this had an appropriate title so I'll proceed.

The board is now turning on with no error codes with new compatible ECC Registered memory installed, CPU's installed, fans spinning etc. The problem is that the damn thing still wont post and I get no video on the monitor despite trying this with a discrete card plugged in. Short of returning the board all the way back to America, I really have no clue of how to revive the situation.
