So as the title says, i'm out to get a soundcard to my project "Fatboss" but i have not played around whit soundcards in ages now.

So if any have played around whit the new STX II from Asus, i will like to know that. I have a pair of Headphone to use whit it. But also a set of headset when i need to game, but was also thinking of getting a "modmic" after i have tryed one out.

Kind Regards,

I'm interested in a review of the STX II as well buddy, think Tom's got one planned for relatively soon, as least I'm hoping so.

He mentioned he had it in for review on a past video so fingers crossed.

There is a good review on the web if you google it.

From what I have read though (since i was going to get one too) is the difference is minor. However STX II has a daughter card allowing up to 7.1 surround where as the STX I does not support this unless you get the PCI version not the PCI-e

I have the STX I and I obsolutely love it. Great sound, excellent clarity, good shielding and low latency for line input. STX II is an improvement over STX I but maybe not worth the upgrade unless you want that 7.1.

The downside to the STX II is that the daughter card is connected by a horrible wide IDE cable which is hard to hide. For those who have OCD on cable management, it will be an eye sore. Especially if you have 2 GPUs like me.
