The leader of the pack is the FX-7600P. It runs at 2.7GHz base and 3.6GHz turbo. It is the only mobile Kaveri to feature R7 graphics with 512 shaders. The GPU runs at 600/686MHz. Although the GPU clocks are somewhat lower than on desktop Kaveri APUs with all 512 shaders, the new FX appears to have the most powerful integrated GPU of any mobile part to date.

Would make quite a potent compact gaming laptop, particularly at 720p.

To be fair they've been packaging the athlon 760k in system builds as some sort of FX chip for a little bit now. :(

.....while some puritans could argue the brand should only be used on high-performance desktop parts, we don’t mind seeing it on mobile chips.

Guess Im a puritan because I dont really care for the FX branding on some weak sauce, cellphone CPU. Its bad enough theyre abandoning us PC enthusiasts at least for the foreseeable future, now theyre slapping the FX label on something thats going to do nothing but Facebook and play Angry Birds.

Nearly did a backflip off my chair...
Successful troll thread was successful. :p

I get your point, but I wouldn't call it cellphone class; it is going to be a 35W part after all.

That top-end mobile Kaveri would make for a very nice reasonably priced gaming laptop indeed, and then given it's only got the APU it doesn't need to be as big and bulky either. I wouldn't actually mind replacing my 6 year old Intel Core 2 laptop with a Kaveri based one, given it'll be a capable gaming system that I won't have to pay through the nose for. ^_^

But yeah, don't expect anything in the high performance area from AMD until 2016. It looks like the FX-8350 is as good as they'll have until then. I think I'll be upgrading to Haswell-E myself as much as I'd like a new AMD setup.

My next AMD system will probably be an athlon. Already had one in a rig and it was fantastic. OC'd incredibly well. 4.2ghz in a small form factor build with hardly any temp increase. laavly. It could probably go higher if the motherboard was better.

I've already got an a 4770k for my new build but I'm so tempted to pick up a 760k and the sniper mobo' for it and get some decent overclocks on it as a side project. Intel for work, AMD for play.

Sounds like you've a nice build in store so.

With me, my next plaything will be an AM1 system. This board and an Athlon 5350 powered from a laptop brick, I'll just tape or blu tack the board to a wall lol. :D

I wouldn't put too much credence on the late 2015 date tbh. However we'll know more as the year goes on, we'll surely see a 2015 roadmap before the year is out.

Man I hope thats true. But damn, wait another 2 years to find out?? Yeesh. Thats what we've been getting from AMD since, oh, around 2008. Just wait til Bulldozer comes out. 3 freaking years later, well just wait til Piledriver comes out. Now its gonna be another 3 years and just wait til......

Its awful hard to be an AMD fanboy these days. Im not sure what Im gonna do with my rig. Probably just drop a 8350 on there and overclock its nads off and ride it out a little while longer. But I keep finding myself lurking around the 2011 motherboards on Amazon. Ive always wanted an "Extreme" system and really want to spring for a 4820K and play with it. Its taking more and more willpower to stop myself from just nuking the credit card and going all 2011 with a 780Ti. :D

Why would you go for an outdated platform like X79? If you're to upgrade you may as well get the newest tech.

Go Z87/Z97 or wait until X99 if you really want to nude the credit card. :p

APUs are the future in the mobile market for sure, i like my laptops compact and light, neither of which can be achieved with a mobile GPU.
I suppose that chip will have a rather high demand and is therefore not going to be cheap, also i bought a new laptop not too long ago, but if i was looking for a laptop that 7600p would be very interesting. Well, if i was into mobile gaming which i am not.
I suppose i am quite happy with my 4700MQ, mobile CPU performance is far more interesting than gaming performance. Gaming at low res, low refresh rate sucks anyways.

Don't know. Just always wanted an "E" system. I don't need razors edge technology because all I do is overclock, Internet, game at 1920x1080 and a little light photo work. For that my current rig is plenty. This is a hobby I do strictly for fun and these are basically toys for me so I don't always base my buying decisions on practicality and logic. :)

can't say I ever had that happen before haha
I must not have been fully awake when I typed that lol.

We're all guilty of that one. Heck, this GTX 780 I have sitting in my rig for instance was a total waste of money, I should have just stuck with my 7950 or got a GTX 770 instead. I always tell myself I'll buy more power than I need so it'll last longer and be more "futureproof", but yet I'll turn around in less than a year or so and shell out for new hardware again using the same reasoning.

Oh trust me I know what thats like but I've told myself this year I'll stick to what I have, I'm sticking to Z87 until Z107 comes out and I'm sticking to the 780 Ti until the 9xx series comes out.
