Steam Hacked!?!

Apparently someone called MaddoxX has hacked steam and released the information gatheres including steam ID's and credit card numbers etc.

Fortunately I've not purchased anything thru steam as the only steam game I have is HL2/CS:S which I bought in the shop

yea this news came up tday and though the cash point says i got £56 in the bank it said that i couldenn't withdraw any money

i hope this isnt to do with this as i aint going to be happy with steam

I'm not sure exactly what info was leaked etc, but people are saying the files can still be downloaded via a well known hosting site

Possibly why there's been so many cheating kids on cs:s this week? altho the 3day passes were bad enough at attracting them

Yea seriously, somebody needs to make it so you DONT need Steam to run those games. Its so annoying to have to update everytime i log on. I dont have that kinda bandwidth to be patching every other day.

Erm by Cafe I don`t think they mean Cyber.

From what I hear, the poster isn`t one of the ones who did it, but seems to be the one mouthing about it, not to every1s liking. But meh..

I know this sucks, but I have to be brutal that if indeed the info is stored as suggested, Valve need a spanking. Apparantly they were told about it too.

Dunno anything else.

If u`r concerned, speak to u`r cc supplier, get u`r card re-issued (new number) then take a look over the last month or 2`s statements for anything irregular. If u see something, talk to u`r cc company - they will understand, they have departments dedicated to this sorta thing. And as this is now regular news, they`ll know about the matter too. Prob be on cnn l8r in the week or summit, with added buzzwords.
