What I find both rather funny/amusing and interesting, is that despite Intel's decades of experience and billions of money, in comparison to AMD, they still have a high TDP in their CPUs. Meanwhile AMD is keeping them lower, even though having more cores and more threads.

It needs to be remembered that AMD are measuring TDP in a different way than Intel for CPUs, just look at power draw testing that compares a i7 6900K and a R7 1800X.

Both of those CPUs use similar amounts of power under load, but the Intel has a 140W TDP whereas the AMD has a TDP of 95W.

Well that is just so missleading then... What if your purchase is based on an SFF build with for example an Noctua NH-L9i cooler and the TDP is important for that type of cooler?.

Maybe it means that 3200mhz kits will finally be "stock" and not "OC". AMD has a lot of work to do on THAT front though. Those AGESA updates can't come fast enough.

Well AMD would be shooting themselves in the foot.. just makes there 1800x even more worthless..
