Spec Ops: The Line is being delisted from all digital storefronts: 2K Confirms

Makes you wonder at times why they don't make agreements that actually last permanently rather than 5-10 years.

Because they make more money from these types of licenses. All companies do it.
Mobile operators dont "own" the frequencies they use. They get them on licences. I think Brand licences all the way down to the music used within the games themselves are mostly done like this and sometimes never fully permitted to use.

Yes well then they aren't very smart, it's simple if you want things to change in anything literally anything you play hard ball, if they don't agree well good luck selling it as if people unite on things oh it changes.

Every single one of us is buying into the same thing. Its naive to think like that. We now listen to music libraries we never own, watch movies we dont own, purchase taxi services from companies who dont own taxis...

Nothing is actually owned these days besides the roof over your head, the food you consume, and the clothes on your back. And even these can be debatable.

Licensing = profit

Why would a company change something that is so lucrative.

One good example of this is Adobe with their Photoshop. Back in 2008-2012, they relased Photoshop CS4 which we purchased full for roughly $200 at the time. Then in 2012 CS6 was released, so we purchased that as an upgrade for an cheaper price due to already being an existing customer of CS4 for about $400.

And since we've just used the same license ever since. Hence we've "owned" this license and software due to this.

Today though? Nothing like that, now you pay an monthly subscription for $30 or $350 yearly.

That's an insane amount per subscription basis in comparison to what our previous purchase was. But, Adobe makes a whole lot more money by doing it this way though and hence why it is this way.
