All of the engines seem to be going free lately, first UE4, then Unity 5 and now Source 2.
Should encourage more indie developers to make some good games.

Doubt we will see Cryengine going free anytime soon though

Well, there is a free version, but it's unsupported and not meant for commercial use. Fun to play around with though:

Didn't know about that, might download it to have a play around with. I know sweet FA about making games though

I have always liked the UE, there seems to be more range with it than the Cryengine.
There are a lot of unique and artistic looking UE games, but everything on the Cryengine looks very much like every other Cryengine game.
