Yeah that`ll do it.
To be fair though, 50 million things can make u`r pc do that, a small list of which being:-
a] Not enough memory/swap memory. (doubtful cos this is an "all-of-a-sudden" thing - unless u`r swap/pagefile has had to move cos it`s usual drive is too full).
b] Problem with u`r memory. (bad writes making u`r pc write a number of times to memory before it gets a good write).
c] Fragged drives. (up the ying-yang, don`t underestimate de-fragging)
d] OS installed on same drive as games, and something is running whilst u`r playing. (check something hasn`t installed itself in u`r desktop background, say in the last couple of days)
e] Drivers for loads of things acting up.
... frankly the list goes on.
