You most likely will NOT notice any improvement in sound quality at lower volumes. at higher volumes thee Fatal1ty card will do better. So unless you plan on blasting the sound in your speakers there will little to no improvment. If you are looking for quality you will need to get a an ASUS xonar or xence, or that $170 creative audiophile card.

I have no clue what you're talking about. The Fatal1ty is just a Titanium with extra features, which is basically the flagship for Creative. If you want one for gaming, I'd get the Fatal1ty. It's got some real nice features for both headsets and speakers, leaning more towards headsets. I'm getting one myself and I know a lot of people who use the Titanium/Fatal1ty for CoD4 CG ladder, which really speaks for itself when they say it's amazing for figuring out ones position

of coarse you have no idea what i am talking about. Your obviously not an audiophile.

Just because it is a flagship card does by no means, means its great quality sound. Sound positioning does not determine clarity. My ASUS xonar in my media rig has 10x the sound quality of that of the Fatality card. my stock sound blaster that came with my Crosshair formula III has 0 sound difference from my Fatal1ty card. personally i prefer my stereo Klipsch Image one headphone with my xonar stereo card and i bet i can pin point positions better than most people with a fatality 7.1 set up. Also i test all my sound cards on $30,000 speakers.

For positional audio, the Fatal1ty destroys the Xonar. You may be an audiophile, but I'd take the reviews and testing of a lot more qualified people. Asus use Dolby Surround, which comes no where near close to the CMSS. It's been tested, by audiophiles. The Xonar is to my knowledge, a card aimed at people using it for media, not gaming. That's where the Fatal1ty, like I have already stated, is the better option.

what ever you say. i am not even going to get involved.

Asus xonar stx or st very nice cards, I used to have the fata1ty champion and ill admit it was nice but had so many issues with I put it back in its box and left it in the cupboard.

bought the stx and never looked back

Creative titanium HD is the way to go dudes, such an amazing card, and what quality

Tbh the only reason I dished out £140 on a sound card is

Because I needed ASIO recording support at low latencies, the titanium hd fit the bill with a latency of 0.00001ms

And seriously it's amazing

I'd be very surprised if you noticed any difference. Waste of money IMO. I haven't used either of those cards though so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

As far as people posting other cards, while it may not directly help you, it may help other people reading this thread.

I have a Titanium (not the fata1ty version) and the quality is amazing through my Roccat Kave headset. I was on onboard sound before.

i have the Xtremegamer Fatal1ty Pro, and although there were a few teething problems when win7 x64 was first RTM'd, it works like a charm now.

unless you are expert sound recorder (music creator) that has some serious MIDI devices to hook up, you won't need anything better.

i do use it for some audio creation (Reason and fruityLoops), and i cannot tell the difference between what i compose and the music created in a studio

Hi.

I agree with hmmblah.

If you need to occupy the PCI space of course it'll be a good idea. Maby someone here has an old X-Fi Supreme PCI express like mine they'd swap to you?

I wont change card as it's good enough and is well positioned on the board.

I own a Titanium and whilst the card itself is great I had to remove it and go back to onboard sound as the drivers from Creative are absolute SHIT!!. If you like X-Fi chipsets think long and hard about Auzentech X-fi instead their drivers seem much better from all the reviews I've read.
