Hey which sound solution is better. The old onboard AC97 Soundchip from realtec or a PCI Soundblaster 4.1 Digital ?

Something about the SB 4.1 D. :

Its very old and its not the LIVE Version which you can buy ATM.

Thanks

I have a SB Live! Quadraphonic card also.

Kicks ass for me :).

Just as good as my other two Live's that I have had.

I personally don't mind my onboard, but then again I have to live with it because I dont really have a choice since there isnt anywhere i can fit a PCI sound card with 2 sli'd watercooled vid cards.... Hopefully they will wide up and release a pci-e 1x card which I will be able to use in my system shortly and bypass the onboard.

But for now, the onboard sounds fine, and I dont have any complaints with it.

I notice a large difference between Integrated and Sound Card's, but, I'm picky.

The sound on the onboard Karajan audio module on my board was pretty immense: but then when I OC'd I got interference from the board so had to get a sound card :(

i ve just sold my audigy about 2 days ago to my friend and im currently using the onboard audio which is fine and isn't that much worse than the audigy. also it has eax :D
