Sony's PS3 Finally take the Nintendo Crown

Having run a games shop for 18 months I have all three (and most of the classics) and I would still never recommend the PS3 except for die hard fanboys. It just doesn't offer enough as a console yet. As a Blu-Ray player it is still the cheapest one i can find and so is worth it for that but not as a console.
As for the 360 and its ring of death. The ones i've helped send back have been in bad environments (ones not as described by microsoft in the hardware manual given with every console) and that is the only reason why they have failed. Overheating only happens because of this not bad manufacturing (bad design certainly but it is enough for those that listen). My 360 was the first in the shop (first batch in the country aside from press edition ones) and it is going strong to this day sat on my sdie next to my hifi.
Japan has always just bought whatever Sony makes (anyone ever played a Japanese only game will know this). So its understandable that they will overtake other consoles. The fact HD-DVD is dead just means Sony's market position is even stronger comparative to the other companies and this was never going to change. It is hardly an unforeseen outcome for anyone.

Any news on Nintendo`s next incarnation ?
U just know it`s going to be good. Kudos to them for releasing a Gamecube with nunchuks and online stuff, and getting massive sales.
PS3 looks excellent imo, but all the existing consoles don`t quite warrant me wanting to get one tbh. PS3 maybe the closest. Might`ve got a Wii if they weren`t short of stock at the time - by the time stock caught up, I lost interest.

I have played on all consoles for a reasonable amount of time and have come to the conclusion that the PS3 is way ahead of the others.
Wii = Fun with friends for the first week before you get injured wrists.. then gets boring and painful to play.
360 = Some good games and average graphics.. lots of lag, rubbish cooling design/quality of build.
PS3 = Pretty good qaulity, well built, finally some good games and a classic name.

I love my ps3 and wouldnt swap it for any of the others. Wii is fun at say a party, but i wouldnt sit down on my own or with like 1 other guy playing it. 360 is dragging on a bit now, and all of my friends that have had one got RROD. Plus ps3 can fold and is going to keep on getting features added to it...i mean digital tv + recorder is comin out soon (MINE MINE MINE!)

Tox if you think the PS3's graphics are noticibly better then you are totally blind. Sure some games are awesome (like MGS4), but playing GTA IV on PS3 and 360 the 360 beats the PS3, same in PES 2008. CoD 4 they're about the same but the 360 has less Aliasing in the scene.
I love both my consoles with the Sony being an awesome choice for Blu Ray pwnage and the 360 having an excellent online system.
MS will introduce a new console much sooner than Sony who need the time to make sales on the PS3

Any1 but m$ doing it, they`d be slapped with a suit and out of business.
.. they probably think m$ has enough suits on them already. I hear they have peoples sitting in their offices overlooking the coding of win7 incase of any code shinanigans preventing other software working on it. Any1 say m$`s UAC ?
