MS is getting killed in the Console market. For plenty of reasons though, mainly because most games release on both consoles, but the PS4 has more powerful hardware, so games look better. Makes sense to get the more powerful one if you are going to be playing games.

I'm still baffled as to why MS opted for less powerful hardware especially when both consoles cost the same :confused:

Both consoles cost the same to buy yet the Xbox One rarely brings out a title that can go 1080 and 60fps, the PS4 is much more consistent with it.

XB1 - 900P 60FPS

PS4 - 1080P 30FPS sometimes 60FPS

Honestly and this is from a mainly PC gamer, I cannot tell the difference between 900P and 1080P ^_^

Tbf you're probably right, you probably can't tell the difference between 900 and 1080. But the fact that the One can never hit 1080 is like guys come on ffs, PC's are at 4K now and you are just about pushing past the 720!!

But in my opinion it only makes sense to buy a PS4 over an Xbox One. I don't see why you would pay the same price but get a less powerful system, gimmicks like the camera that are not necessary (and cost more) Xbox Live Gold which is another £30. Okay you do have to pay for PS4 online now, but I still don't think its as much as Live.

Nothing on the Xbone appeals to me and anything that does is also available on PC. If the new Uncharted game is any good (which it probably will be, given Naughty Dog's track record), I'll probably pick up the PS4 at some point.

You can tell a difference.. it's a 69% increase in resolution.
1600x900= 1,440,000
1920x1080=2,073,600
2,073,600/1,440,000= .69444

Owning both consoles, while playing COD:AW, I could tell a difference. Now it was a striking increase however it just looked slightly sharper. The textures also weren't as blurry when close up. From looking out very far I couldn't tell a difference however. But bring in some game exclusives, they will easily utilize both hardware to their extent and the 50% more streaming cores in the PS4 give it a massive edge.

Exaclty my point. PS4 is the same price but more powerful and PS Live is cheaper. Makes a lot of sense.

The real reason for choosing if graphics aren't an issue are exclusives. To me Sony has the best ones. Xbox only has Halo that's worth it to me but 343 industries has to prove themselves after Halo 4.. so it's iffy. Makes it an easier choice again for a PS4.

I think you mean 44%?
((2,073,000 - 1,440,000) / 1,440,000)

2073600*.694=1,440,000(roughly due to the never ending 4's) meaning 1600x900 is about 69% of 1920x1080.
Doing it your way and then re-adding 44% back to 1,440,000 together also nets the same answer.

Microsoft's strategy since Balmer left office is "windows will make us whole"
They oriented XBONE to be a media centre more than a gaming rig

No, I said I couldn't, Me, Moir, Ich, Brilliant that YOU can see a difference but I cannot.

Because you don't have both, test it out and could tell with a side by side comparison.

Yes 1440000 is 69% of 2073600 but that is not the increase. The increase is the difference, relative to the original :)

I'm tired and haven't done math for 3 months so forgive my mistakes.. I don't plan on doing math until classes start again! Just doing that was a chore:p

Yup, and what a moronic idea that was. Bring out a really expensive media centre when TVs are starting to come with most of those features already built into them. I just hope devs leave the xbone behind solely on the basis of lack of power. If not then we can expect another few years of stale gaming with little to no progression.

I have both and I cant tell the difference. There, mystery answered :)

I took the xbox for the media side of things, also halo and killer instinct.

I have serious issues with my smart TV, the apps and features are slow, crash often and are not as user friendly as the PC or console.. e.g. Netflix. And this is a Samsung 3DTV I bought last year.

Well I play on these consoles on a 65" TV. So I guess when stretching it out to that big of a screen, it makes easier to pin point differences because the pixel count is increased by 44%. On a smaller monitor then probably not so much.
