It looks like Sony are holding back cross-platform play between the PS4, PC and Xbox One for both Rocket League and CD Projekt's upcoming Gwent card game. Psyonix says that they could enable it within hours if Sony would give them permission.

PC already has cross platform play. They are waiting for Sony to give the go ahead with cross console play (xbox players on ps4 and vice versa)

If anything it extends the games lifespan and therefore created more revenue for both Sony and Devs. Hopefully they actually go through with this. They are all about power to the gamer.. Well this would be a strong candidate towards that message

Don't care so much for cross-play, if I could invite people from the PS4 who are on Xbox or PC I now that would be a good feature, but so far, for games like Rocket League that can't be done.

Well that's the whole point here. "that can't be done" precisely because Sony does NOT approve (currently) implementation of cross-platform play.

But on the PS4 you can play against PC players in Rocket League, what I want to say is that all it does is increase player base, I can't go inviting Steam players to a game from my PS4 for example.

Ff14 already has PS and pc players and at some point Xbone so it's not as if it's not possible

FF11 had PS2, Xbox 360 and PC players all lumped together before S.E stopped supporting PS2 and 360.

When I played FF11 half our guild was made up of PC players while the other half was evenly split between 360 and PS2.

I remember getting my FF11 beta disc with the official 360 magazine and was instantly hooked ^_^

Made some good mates through it I still keep in contact to this day.

I'd assume that alot of that is because they run it on their own servers, all we need now is a teamspeak that runs on PS and XB and it's all golden
