Yes, that's right, Tom's Hardware has already gotten their hands on a pre-production model of the new Socket AM2 4800+. Since this was pre-production, the chip was unable to utilize DDR2-800, so the test platform only used DD2-667. We see in the tests that, for the most part, the Socket AM2 platform is beaten out by the current Socket 939 systems, thus it seems DDR2-800 seems to be a must to get higher performance. Not much else I can really say about this, so you're going to have to read the article yourself to get full details.
