Skyrim Special Edition PC system requirements

Below are the PC system requirements for Skyrim Special Edition, which will require 8GB of VRAM, a quad-core CPU and a minimum of a GTX 470 or an HD 7870.
I assume you meant to say will require 8GB of RAM instead of 8GB of VRAM.

Nice to see another group releasing a remake to original owners free of charge.

Now if only COD would do the same. Oh wait then they wouldnt have made any money since basically all their games are revamped versions.

Not all that impressed to be honest, I had this level of detail and effects 4 years back with mods.

Don't forget we are getting a brand new lighting system, Volumetric god rays, New DoF system, Screen space reflections, New snow shaders, Water shaders etc.... while the mods made the vanilla Skyrim look nice IMO they were a pain in the bum to all get working nicely together.

A proper side by side comparison video of stock Skyrim and stock Skyrim Remastered would be interesting upon release :)

There is a video from bethesda on YouTube showing side by side comparison on the PC, honestly it looks bleached out and bloom blurred to hell.. I'm going to load up vanilla later and throw all the mods I use and some more now I have the gpu and cpu grunt to pull it off. Clear waters, tesselation update, flora and fauna, better town and cities, enb mod, volumetrics, high res mesh mod, HD textures, character updates, AI balance ect ect

Pics please in the screenshot thread, Love seeing modded Skyrim shots :)

It's not all that impressive. But as DH pointed out, it will not be considered Vanilla. So it makes it easier and less mods running is always a bonus. Besides, it's free for PC users. So don't matter to me:)

It's only free if you have all the DLC or Legendary edition. I'll still bet that a modded version is better graphically. Now if Bethesda want to breath new life into the game, they should add further quests and side missions maybe even extend the map...

For me the biggest reason to move to this new version is the 64bit executable. Beyond that it's really down to hardware limitations and how many Mods you can throw at it.

I just hope they remove the 60fps and beyond physics issue. I've never experienced it, when I played it I wasn't running a good PC, but everyone talks about it and with current hardware they definitely need to fix it...

Yeah going beyond 60FPS in Skyrim causes many issues, Weird water splashing sounds, Objects going nuts, Hope they removed this limitation in the special edition.

Being that it's still there on Fallout 4 which uses the same updated Creation Engine I wouldn't hold out much hope.
