Any one got one? Ive been looking at both the pc type and the non-pc type. Thinking about getting one along with a netnumber to act like a landline. Anyone got any recomendations?

Three of my relatives (three different households) use non-pc types and I must say, they are probably the best forms of telecommunication when it comes to homes.

Charges are cheap, the majority of the phones look good, they run well, have extremely good customer service (I had to call them up once), the list goes on.

The only reason they are not so popular is probably because everyone thinks its a PC thing. This thing beats BT, Virgin, Sky, etcetera by miles.

Would deffo recommend it.

Im thinking of getting one and a net or skype number so it acts like a landline.

Skype charges are minimal so could be good for me. Some of the phones cost a few quid mind.

Well it depends.

If you have lots of visitors and your house is full of class then it is deffo worth it.

But if it is the opposite then go for a super cheap one.

Go on get the expensive one; you know you want to...

Im not paying £100 for a handset :p

but I do want to have one inside and in the shed.... might get a cordless one.

I've been using skype. Used it in a hotel in new zealand to ring home. dad, using the skype network and my mum using the skype out. I only put £10 credit, still have £9 left now.

Quality seemed pretty good (was using video as well). but this was on my eee pc.

might want to try www.voipinfo.org.
