SK Hynix has updated their product catalog with HMB2 memory, with each module sporting 4GB of memory and 204.8GB/s of bandwidth. How will this new memory effect AMD's Vega 10 GPU?

Well this is ready now. Vega comes out next quarter. Still a possibility of higher memory or faster memory

Remember that Samsung has supplied Nvidia with HBM2 for their server GPUs for ages. AMD does not necessarily need to be getting their supply from SK Hynix.

Very true. They could use either company. They are much closer to SK though

They did use SK Hynix for the Fury X, but AMD is going to go with the company who delivers the best product at a good price.

AMD have agreements with Samsung to use their fabs if needed, so it isn't like AMD doesn't have business ties with them.

I know, was just referring to them and SK working on HBM design for years. Think it took 7 years iirc to develop it. But yeah them and Samsung are friendly with each other. It is actually ironic that Samsung is able to create better HBM than one of the original founders..:p
