okay ive got a 9600xt 256mb ATI radeon running on my Old system, and iv already overclocked it atm to maxcore - 550, stock is 500 and ramcore 310,stock is 250

i was just cleaning the actual graphic card itself,it had literally thick layers of dust clogging up the fan of the graphic card,i cleaned it all off and looks like new now, is it worth tryin to overclock it more now, seeing ther would have been alot of dust clogging up the fan itself previously, thanks.

Sure you're not going to hurt it unless you go crazy. Surely worth a shot, just run ATI Tool for artifacts to make sure you aren't.

It's better to get a cooler that actually replaces the cooler on your graphics card and that one has it's own PCI slot. Zalmon are good I believe, you can kind of tell which coolers are good by looking at them.

At the same time acoller that replaces your graphics cooler, requres you to apply it and ca be bad if you ar enot comfortable with it, although it really isn't difficult so you shouldn't worry about it.

i would just go for another gfx card..
1. Not always an option for people. 2. In his case I'm pretty sure he's already ordered a totally new rig and is just having fun with this one and will be a backup or whatever. But I'm not positive about that so don't quote me on it.

I agree at the end of the day it's a very old card with very old technology and no amount of OC'ng can stop that factor, newer cards have much more advanced design.

I'd honestly save my money and get something new.

as mike said, iv got my new gaming rig coming this weekend,im just Looking to Have some fun with this current rig i got...

so it wont hurt to give it some colour and cool down the graphic card i guess... :P

just got to 565 maxcore and 320 ramcore, theres an improvement haha

stock settings are 500 maxcore and 250 ramcore....

il see if i can up it anymore once that vantec spectrum gets thrown in later..
