Set CPU in Bios to Auto

After ages wondering what to set my cpu voltage too just set it to Auto does the job just fine , was at 4.4mhz at 1.27v with my 2600k but at idle 1.6mhz cpu kept to same voltage as 4.4 , so set to auto cpu now ramps down to 1v idle .

Perfect , Think the overclocking is getting less use to anyone as they make things easier won't be long before set everything to auto is the best bet .

:o

It was just an innocent mistake - let's just leave it be.
I know that if I set my voltage to Auto right now, i'll BSOD like no tomorrow.

Can see i am going to have fun with you , let me guess been here for years and have respect for the badges .

No only been here for 4 months and this is a computer forum not the police force, and it doesn't matter whether it was a spelling mistake or not, all I did was correct it not as Josh said lets all be grown ups and leave it

Ok In response to your post , the problem with overclocking and setting the vcore to auto is it can cause the vcore to change a lot which can make the overclock unstable

Depends what you set everything else at , stable my end 4400 Ghz (Capital G just for you) with CPU set at Auto.

Can't see much gain pushing the numbers say 4.8 or the crazy waste of time 5.0 , all games and apps run like the wind at 4400 low temps , so 2600k is maxed as it goes .

Overclocking is dead .

If you can get more performance out of your chip with no downsides, I don't see what the issue is.
True, at 4.4GHz you're not going to see a massive increase going up to 4.6/.7/.8, but if your chip can safely run it 24/7 with great temps, why not?!
Also - if you have a 2600k running at 4.4GHz, have you ever heard of Folding @ Home? :)

Suppose it's a hobby Josh to get the best out of any chip , but think 2600k took the fun out of it in a way as it's too good .

4.4 is god speed and runs the lot at 63C full load so nothing much else to do .
