Server Rack Bit`s`n`bobs

Any1 got/know a UK source of sensibly priced server housing stuff, not the servers themselves, just the racking.

Been to one place, and the want £22.50 (ex) for a 24" piece of metal - just a bracer.

Scan.co.uk do some server cases and rails, but apart from that everything i've ever seen to do with racks has been way over priced. What exactly are you after? I may know someone that can help.

If u think in terms of 1U size, 4U x 4, with space for 2 or 3 monitor/keyboard trays possibly.

What I`d immediately be after would be a frame. Base, top, 4 uprights - and time to keep looking at it and thinking.

Then add a tray and mod it to my needs and hack about with it.. ordering/sourcing parts as required.

This will be a project, nothing seriously-server based, there will be a server built along the way - adapted from a pc.

I`ve seen a shell priced for several hundred pounds - and that`s crazy.

Those kinda parts I`m less worried about, I kinda know a place that has them "lying around the place".

It`s the 19" frame I`d be more interested in.

EDIT: It`d need to be UK too m8, although looking at UK prices u`d think they were shipping them into u.

Thanks for the offer m8y, but it would cost an absolute fortune, given the sizes and probable weight.
