Selling advice (gtx 1070)

Hey guys and gals was just after a bit of selling advice. In the next couple of weeks I hope to sell my 10 month old MSI GTX 1070 Armor OC with an EK-FC nickel waterblock and black backplate fitted. The block is also compatible with a lot of the MSI 1080/70/60 range: https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/waterblock/3831109831564
I'm selling it with the original air cooler and box as a bundle (waterblock will be fitted). It's worked flawlessly for me and has only been in a cool and quiet system so no overvolting/overclocking done to it. The only reason its being sold is my shiny new GTX 1080 Ti has forced me to :wink3: so does anybody have a sensible current market price I should put on it?
I look forward to your responses.

It depends where you look. On OCUK without the block (trust me, sell that separately it will gain you £0 otherwise) they go for £320-£350. Armor apparently isn't a fantastic card so that would be my entry point. You may have to settle as low as £300, as 980Tis have been selling for £250 for ages now.

Put the water block on Ebay. That is your only chance of recuperating the most cash for it. Seriously, it's like an anchor of doom and may even end up netting you less because of it.

As far as I'm aware the Armor uses the Gaming X PCB so having a waterblock on it is effectively equivalent to having a full-cover on a Gaming X which is MSI's top of the line.

Yup but it's a 1070. And people spending the kind of money needed for water cooling do not water cool 1070s any more.

Thanks for the swift replies

It is the same pcb but the power system is different. The Armor OC also only is an 8 pin and the Gaming X is 6+8 pin. The air cooler is very good on it but it has no standard backplate, unlike the X+Z etc. The results for the air cooler on the 1070/80 were very good but when the put it on the 1080 Ti it was no better than the reference cooler. The TF6 waterblock was very adaptable.

I think you may be right dude. I'll fit the air cooler back onto it, test it and sell the block seperately. I can't believe how silly the prices are on some cards. Well that's ethereum mining for you lol. However there are still bargains out there. I got my 1080 Ti a few weeks ago on Amazon as a special (EVGA SC Black Edition). It was only £608! The reference card was only £583. Had to wait a couple of weeks for delivery but for that price I was in no rush.

Yeah prices on the top end cards are pretty good tbh. The 1080 has just dropped to £449, which is nice. They will drop further too (the 1080) but I doubt the 1080Ti and Titan will now.
