Self heating coffee containers exposed

A company called Ontech have created a self heating beverage conatainer and have teamed up with a coffee-peadler called Woflgang Puck to create a self heating coffee container.

This is a container that heats coffee by activating a simple heating mechanism ... the perfect thing for peeps who are too lazy to leave the computer and walk to the kitchen to make coffee (lucky for me my espresso machine is beside my computer :) )

Once activated, they reach 145 degrees in about 6 minutes. This isn't a review of the beverage, it's all about the stuff that makes the liquid hot, how it works, pictures and links to patents....

the heating mechanism uses the Exothermic (gives out energy) chemical reaction between Calcium Oxide and Water to heat the beverage

<<Chemistry Lessons remembered here>>>

CaO + H2O >>>>> Ca(OH)2 (+Heat/Energy)

The coffee is made by a company called Wolfgang Puck (I have never heard of them) and is REHEATED .. so the coffee could taste like crap

I could see this product selling well @ road-side stations and hacker convntions (like DEFCON or a BSD Hack-A--Thon)

I wonder can you get this in the UK???
