See-through word in a video

I' d like to add a see-through word in a video(is there a specific word for this?)
Is there any program which can do this?

Any video editor can, probably even Windows Movie Maker... just turn the ''Opacity'' of the word you want to appear see-through down :)

You just make an overlay in photo shop or fireworks and save it in a format that supports transparency

If you dont know what Im on about you have a fair few things to learn :p

It's called a watermark by the way. That should help you looking up some tutorials for your specific software :)

I use to use WMM (the XP's version).
Suppose I have a video, any video, and I want to add my name "livadi" in top-right side, as all tv channels do. How do I do this?

If its not see-through, the name is still "watermark"?

Yes, a watermark is a logo that you put on your video or images to show people that it's yours, even when others copy it and claim it to be their work.

As you don't even seem know what it's for though, I highly doubt that you need such a thing. Not trying to be harsh, just realistic :)

I need it in order to put it in a video of mine.
I guess its easier to put a word without transparency?
Can u suggest me a program which can do this task?
