Hey everyone, just wondering if someone could recommend one of these over the other? theyre approximately the same price, and from what I can see the AX850 has a longer warranty, and 90 extra watts, dont know about the difference in quality of cables between the two. Due to the price difference, the Seasonic+accessories would be better quality, right? I know the AX is a rebranded seasonic, so bit confused about the price difference. Ive just had a refund for an AX850 that arrived screaming under any load, and am RMA'ing a HX520 for a busted capacitor so a bit wary of getting another Corsair. I am willing to allow for just random chance and get another if the majority think its better though. The max it will be used with would be ivybridge/kepler versions of the below:

i7-2600K OC @4.5

2x570 in SLI

16Gb ram

3x7200rpm HDD

2xSSD

Xonar STX

Obviousliy noone knows how they will perform just yet, but just suggest as if they were these components please, should be close enough =). Priorities are quiet first, efficiency second, though both are important. Any other suggestions are welcome, and Im willing to look at platinum efficiency versions. After having the cap blow on the HX520, I just REALLY want a good PSU.

Thanks in advance everyone, looking forwards to the suggestions =)

AX850 best psu I have ever owned. Plus you say quietest, while I have no first hand experience with the seasonic one the AX will only spin up under load. its designed to do that most of the time mine is in the fan off state. And when the fan does spin up I dont hear it. its set for off/50%/100% I have never hit 100% with it

corsair psus are pretty good, i would say the best but you do pay a premium and the seasonic is quality as well, if it was my money what would i buy? the corsair had one already and it is a quality unit thats why i would recommend it but if your in the UK look into one of the silverstone gold psus over @ scan a lot cheaper and very good units e.g. the 1kw version is cheaper than the ax 850w and they are both fully modular and 80 plus gold

AX850. As you said its already a rebranded seasonic. I know the corsair RMA is very good, unsure about seasonic

ax850, BUT

take a look at tom's videos about the Enermax psu's, the platimax ones, they'll be just as good (if u don't care about the cable aesthetics, which u can do or u can get bitfenix extensions )

Corsair AX850 *IS* Seasonic X-850. Corsair puts their labels on a bunch of stuff (including Asetek coolers). And I'd also recommend an Enermax PSU. Enermax PSUs review well and they are very quiet (silentpcreview recommends one of them too).
