This news just released a few days ago... Thought I'd bring it to everyones attention. Both companies together should be a hopeful prospect in which we should see some of the finest hard drives ever created. Viva la merge!

Actually its more like harddrive industry contraction. Shortly, harddrives will be a thing of the past. Samsung has created a chip that makes 32 GB Flash RAM cards possible. They say they can get even higher numbers than that. Harddrives will be a thing of the past. No more moving parts, head crashes or speed bottlenecks cluster/block size troubles or device number limits. Your harddrive will be a flash card

It will be quite some time before we see anything of the sort go mainstream. Hard drives will be around for a lengthy amount of time still.

another year or so...i doubt longer than that, cos by the time we get quad core's i dnt think hard drives will stil be used...in the future...who knows though...
