Hi everyone,
For the past couple of weeks I have been puting together my dream computer and yesterday I decided to power up for the first time.
I quickly pressed the "delete" button to access the "Bios Set up" when the LOGO Screen appeared.
I accessed the following,
> Standard CMOS Features
...and was met with a rather strange and confusing list of IDE(?)
>IDE Channel 0 Master [None]
>IDE Channel 0 Slave [None]
>IDE Channel 1 Master [OCZ-VERTEX3 M1]
>IDE Channel 1 Slave [SAMSUNG HD103SJ]
>IDE Channel 2 Master [None]
>IDE Channel 3 Master [TSSTcorp DVDWBD SH B
So the question is, why are they all recognized as IDE instead of SATA? All three of my Drives are connected via SATA cables that are both 6GB and 3GB compatible into the correct Motherboard ports (NOT Marvell but the Intel Z68 Chip set).
For reference I have a new Gigabyte Z68-UD7 mother board, with BIOS version F4. I have installed a Vertex 3 120GB SSD SATA III 6Gb, Samasung F3 ITB HDD, and a Samsung Blu-ray optical drive in to the Motherboard.
I have double checked that all component are connected correctly and all three are powered by a single peripheral power cable (the one that comes in either 2 or 4 connections)...I have a corsair 850AX PSU
