Hi all this will be my second time building a gaming rig first time I ordered parts but paid some one to build because I wasn't confident enough to do myself. When I had my first gaming rig it was when the first I7 core were first released so along time ago haha.

Here is what I am plaining on doing.

Aerocool GTS White
Intel core I7 4790k
MSI 297 Gaming 9 ACK motherboard

Not sure on graphics card yet and power supply as I like to go big power supply but watching everyone's builds you seem to have 550w sorry im all new to this haha so that is my rig so far and wanting to put in creative sound blaster ZxR sound card.=00=
 
Why do you want to go big power supply?... I have an 750W and it's a bit too much really, plenty for dual graphics card to be honest. But yes, anything from 450-750W will do you just fine :)
 
ive always thought that if running big machine need big power supply but like I said im noobie when comes to building them
 
No worries dude, we've all been there ;) ... I used to think like you, but then came to the knowledge that what I first thought, wasn't that correct after all ;)
 
the build haha I know they can be very touchy with electricity if not earthed yeah? Well that's what people have preached to me when doing your graphics card and motherboard.
 
Umm... as far as I know, unless something is very wrong with the PC, a component is severaly defect, then maybe it'll blow up... or even the plug fuse in your house might pop, if the power supply is too big and the load is too much for the fuse to handle. Then yes maybe ;)

Haha no worries at all mate... I used to be like you once, and for the record, I'm no way near a champ :p... atleast not anywhere close to a champ as the other guys on this forum :)
 
Thats one thing i like about this forum lots of people are rather modest. :)
And White builds seem to be getting more and more popular, only thing id do with that case is make a custom front to hide those 5.25" bays and change the window to remove the vents, I'm sad like that.

What GPU do you have planned? :)

IMO i think that Aerocool is over priced for what it is have you had a look at Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White it's $10 less and i think a much better case but unless you like the style of the Aerocool.

You could go with a GTX 970 but bear in mind that the GTX 970 have a 3.5GB limit & 0.5GB so you could go with a GTX 980.

With the 980's brands you could look at is ASUS, EVGA & Gigabyte.
 
yeah ive had gigabyte on my last rig was great cant remember what the specs wore but will see if I can find what I had in my last rig and cheers all for the info

I'm can't say for sure but there could be other people might chip some ideas in for you too :)
