Hi guys,

Was just hoping to get some insight in regards to how the SAMSUNG U28D590D is going for people, as I am thinking about getting 1 as its only $580 at the moment compared to the original $700

I have this monitor and to be honest, It's awesome, buy it, Don't think just click and buy you will not be disappointed !

I have an IPS as well and in all honesty this screen even though it's a TN is seriously close to the IPS panel with colours, Plus it's 60Hz at 1ms, Looks SOOOOO clean with no horrible buttons or USB ports on the side, Awesome piece of gear :)

mm I see, thanks for that. I was actually rather skeptic about the panel at first, as I read that it was using some altered version of an 8-bit panel. Thanks for clearing it up :)

Literally going through Paypal checkout right now, should arrive by the time I finish reassembling my watercooling loop, then after that 3 days of 4k gaming.

Another thing, while it is OT, is that 780ti of yours on air?

Yep everything I have is on air apart from the CPU, Well an H100i so not a custom loop but still ^_^

I won the silicon lottery with my GPU though :)

And by the way, Your going to be testing EVERY game at 4K, I've had this monitor for around 2 weeks now and I'm still going through games and tech demos :D

Nice, sorry you have to go through all those shabby 290x cards first though :( I lucked out with 2 out of 3 of my cards, 2 can go past 1400mhz (coil whine on one), the other was horrible, wouldnt go past ~1244mhz no matter how much I fed it.

Still those clocks on a 780ti must be pretty nice, I was considering getting a 780ti myself, but decided to just keep the 290x and then one thing led to another.

Oh and believe me, I wish I could test every game at 4k, but unfortunately I only have the week off :(

Well then expect quite a few all nighters :D

Haha, again thx

Oh and the OC on my 290x was not done on air ;) would have caused a meltdown if it was hehe.

I did have an Asus 290X Matrix Platinum but it wouldn't clock past 1100, Not for air I know but I did buy it to put it under LN2 at my first session but the friend who had access to the LN2 moved to France so that was a no go so I took it back and got the 780 Ti as the temps and general performance were as welcome as the clap ^_^

One thing to remember is that a lot of AMD GPUs especially 290's and 290X's are having issues with 4K monitors, Flickering etc...so don't be surprised if you see little screen glitches, It appears to be a driver related issue though.

This I can reply to ;) thanks for the warning, didn't know this issue existed until actually searched for it. Crossing fingers and hoping all goes well.

Your welcome :)

From everything I've seen so far it's a driver issue, It also cropped up on the Nvidia side of things so it's nothing to worry about :)
