Samsung starts mass producing its fastest M.2 SSD to date, the PM9E1

One thing not mentioned was not only did they double the speed and give a 50% increase to power efficiency, they also managed to double the overall TBW rating. From 1200TBW to 2400TBW.

They didn't give details on which models but I have a suspicion that the figure is misleading considering they have a 4TB drive whereas the previous Gen(pm9a1) only went up to 2TB.

Mhm very interesting to read, thanks for sharing this bud :)

Can't come soon enough for me. Been a mostly loyal Samsung user with the odd mostly disappointing forays elsewhere. Primary rig at home has dual 990 Pro 2TB and dual 970 Evo Plus 2TB to which I added a Crucial T705 1TB and I've gotta say while it benchmarks well on CrystalMark and PCMark, it doesn't feel that much if any at all quicker. I suspect that if I cloned this fresh install onto a Gen 3 Optane 905p, it might feel snappier in use :)
