So Samsung are reportedly going to be releasing all the info on there upcoming new flagship phones tomorrow the 21-02-16 at Barcelona I've not posted any links as a quick Google search will show that a number of sites will be broadcasting this as it happens but I for one am excited as I just got released from my S6 contract so I will be grabbing one of these new badboy's

The S6 edge is still going strong for me, I'll be keeping this for at least another year.

If it's got glass on the back and stupidly slim piece of glass on the front like the S6 then I won't be touching it.

I had no idea about this till today as I got released from my Optus contact due to poor reception and when i went to change over to Telstra they said sorry we don't have any S6 edges or any other S6 products for that matter due to an imminent phone release so I did a google search and found out about the S7 and Kushiro it should be available in March from what i can figure out

It's rumored to have either the new Gorilla Glass 4 or what some are calling Turtle Glass and it's supposed to be a stronger and IP67 case with a tougher metal for the bezel and the rear glass will be curved to improve grip and it also is supposed to be getting Memory cards slots back and bigger batteries

Yeah I have heard the same thing, and whilst the glass on the back of my S6 has not been scratched or cracked, the glass on the front cracked in two places with very little pressure.

Lent up against a set of chest of drawers with it in my pocket, forgot it was there to be honest and the handle, on the draw cracked the screen in two places.

I bought a replacement front piece of glass for it of ebay for £10, but I need to get a decent suction cup to take the back, off as the one provided in the kit won't stick to the back enough to lift the back, up enough to get something under it.

Either way with the state of the S6 which at first was great, but suffered so many performance drops, signal issues etc that it has put me off them.

There are a couple of phones that I have got my eyes on, LG G5, Lenovo, Xiaomi and to my suprise the HP, but I will see what they are like from streams and youtube videos from MWC.

TBH any phone probably would have cracked during those circumstances, but to be fair if other issues are turning you off then fair enough and the G5 might be interesting or maybe the new M10 or whatever they are going to call it

Im still rocking the Note 3 and was miffed they didnt launch the Note 5 in the UK but then made worse by the fact they didnt launch a white S6 Edge+ either.

I really need a new phone though so Ill be looking to see what they offer (hopes for big phone at launch)

Don't know why they didn't give you a white S6 edge+ as we had them here but yes a nice white S7 edge would be amazing

Yeah I wanted the Note 5 too, that was a super lame move.
However, downsizing was actually the best thing I did.

i love the look of the samsungs. presently hate my ip6+ battery life is degraded to the point that by lunch time it flashes the 20% warning. i have a couple of tab S 8.4s and they are fantastic. i would consider the a tab s3 big style. and they are more child friendly

My S5 has had a few issues with the camera and the batteries dying - but I love the waterproof feature. The S7 is supposed to be waterproof (well resistant) as well so looking forward to some actual reviews of this. I still have 6 months left of contract so no rush.

Well I am still torn between 2 phones, and they are the S7 Edge and the LG G5.

Waiting for the plans to become available for the LG on EE.

I need to call them and find out what if EE are going to be offering the Gear VR for free with it like Vodafone are, since there plan is the same and also cheaper each month.

***Edit***

Well just spoke to EE and they are not offering the Samsung Gear VR and they are also not offering any sort of pre-order incentive other than getting the phone 3 days early, they also will not match other providers rates or offer to beat them.

Kind of poor service from them since I have been a customer with them for around 8 to 10 years now, and have two contracts with them.

Need to have a think, as Vodafone are offering the Gear VR and the same tariff as EE for the same price but with £20 less upfront fee, then through Carphone Warehouse I can get the same tariff from EE with the Gear VR and no upfront cost.

The Gear VR thing isn't a Vodafone deal? It's a Samsung thing, anyone that pre-orders an S7/ S7 Edge before March 10th gets a free Gear VR (as long as stock lasts).

Out of the two, I'd definitely go G5. To me, the S7 seems simply what the S6 should've already been (removable battery and expandable storage) with updated internal hardware. It's really not that special, I think we've hit a bit of a ceiling for high-end hardware in phones anyway.

LG have at least done some funky stuff with that button on the back, and now the expandable system for bigger batteries, camera grip, a proper DAC, etc.
Seems a lot more innovative than Samsung's design. And also, even with Samsung shipping much less bloatware with their phones as they used to, I still think the Touchwiz UI is pretty crap tbh.

I thought it might be a Samsung deal but EE, Three and O2 are not offering the Gear VR only Vodafone and contracts through Carphone Warehouse are offering it.

I would love to try VR but I think I will wait and see if some people try the Gear VR with Elite.

I do like the idea of the G5 and I am really tempted by it, but it depends on the tariffs.

I work at Carphone Warehouse and we got a Samsung Promo email with a link where to go to for the Gear VR promo. It didn't state a device had to be bought in combination with a contract at Carphone Warehouse, or any contract for that matter.

I'm working again tonight so I'll see if I can find it for you.

On the other hand though, is it really worth it just for the VR thing? Nevermind one that you use with a phone. It's a fun thing to have, but I'd just go for whichever phone is best, and to me personally, that'd be the G5.

I think I am just going to wait for the tariffs to become available for the LG and see which offers the best tariff for me.

I need one with quite abit of data for when I get a new car stereo in order to stream audio via bluetooth, so the DAC add on part of the G5 is not to important although if I got one I could try it on the PC as well, as apparently it will work on the pc.

The phones specs are not vital to me, as I am literally only going to use if it for streaming music, watching youtube and playing a few games like Clash Of Clans and Boom Beach etc, and the occasional video recording and taking photos when I cannot use my Canon 1200D.

I know I could go for a low end phone for what I do really but, I would rather get something decent.

S7 looks good - but only because it's Water resistant and has all the S5 features back re storage (aside from the IR blaster I'm not sure if it has that)
The Edge however is not as useful as you'd think. I'm purely basing my opinions on the S6 Edge but there's really a lack of cases that don't ruin the whole thing and the edge isn't as useful as you'd like. Not many apps support it. It does look good but at the cost of being awkward to hold.
