Those are some massive gains in capacity and bandwidth. I suspect upper mid range cards to high end ones will definitely make the switch next gen.

I still suspect lower tier'd cards to use 6/6X 2Gb modules.

This is also potentially great for helping lower end cards that have the GPU horsepower for 1440p but lack memory bandwidth and capacity. Instead of using the more expensive 256-bit bus, they can be 128-bit but attain bandwidth from the memory modules instead.
