Samsung reportedly working on a 49-inch 120Hz 5120x1440 monitor

...But...Why?

But... why not?

I'd get one. Nearly bought the current version but sanity prevailed and I got an X34 instead. Mainly as it was about $800 AUD cheaper.

For work they're brilliant. Everyone here has at least two screens and the cable management and desktop space issues caused by generic stands are a real PITA. This solves that.

Of course they're not for everyone and they're certainly pretty niche as far as market goes due to the price but the most complained about part of the CHG90 was the resolution. Everyone wanted QHD. Well here it is.

Chuck one of these on a racing or flight sim rig and they'd be amazing. VR isn't for everyone so we still need something that's immersive and preferably without 3x DP and Power cables out of the back.

Yeah for gaming I don't think it's all that useful and definitely few games if any will support it. It's hard enough to find games that work on UltraWide 3440x1440.

Oooooh this is temping, Now if they could bring out a G-Sync version of this I would buy it, Elite Dangerous would be even more epic ^_^

Don't you have a Vega GPU now?

Anyways, I would say about 5% of games will support this resolution natively without any kind of hackmod. Even FA4 is a pita trying to get ui and 3440 res to play nicely together
