Samsung has plans to release a 100Hz HDR 3440x1440 FreeSync Display

Exactly what is the difference between a HDR and non-HDR 1440p display? I know what it means, but until now HDR was just something the graphics card too care of and didn't require monitor support.

Also... No VESA mount confirmed = sux :)

I agree

What a bonehead move bye Samsung bye not putting a VESA mount on the back.

Having a HDR source but no HDR monitor/TV means that software/games must map the colours from the wider range to the lower one. So it must select a middle colour brightness and scale all the rest of the values around it. If a bright colour was selected the darker values would just appear black and if a dark colour was selected the bright colours would just appear white.

Now with a HDR TV/monitor you are able to see both the dark colours and bright colours at the same time without them just appearing black/white. :)

Proper HDR displays are amazing.

Fellas, watch the video.

Vesa bracket is included for using vesa compatible mounts.

Hmm odd. From looking at the pictures there's no way there's a VESA mount hidden in there somewhere, unless it's some weird addon that gets hooked in where the foot is mounted. But of course if they say it's included, guess we'll just have to take their word for it for now :)

I totally agree. It's freaking drop dead gorgeous! I can't wait till I lay my eyes upon more HDR content.. even on LED/LCD tv's it's stunning. Now imagine it with OLED panels mixed with HDR content. Now THAT is a nerdgasm at it's best:D

One title to watch for with this display will be Forza Horizon 3.

It already looks superb in general graphics but at full res on a Windows 10 PC with the HDR this will bring a new level of imagary to gaming.

AMD just need a high end card to make the most of it.
