Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced semiconductor technology solutions, today announced that it has developed an 8Gigabyte (GB) microSD (Secure Digital) memory card, a size optimal for today’s multimedia mobile phones. Featuring the highest capacity today for a microSD card, the new fingernail-sized card is capable of storing 2,000 MP3 music files, 4,000 digital photos, or approximately 5 DVD-quality movies.

That is friggin' 1337. I remember when I bought my MicroSD you could only get them in a 2gb variety and those were EXPENSIVE. 8gb, wow.

Storage on such a small scale is tremendous.

Can these be used in the same fashion as Vista uses USB pens for it`s memory boost thingy ?

As a side note, it`s about the size of u`r thumbnail and u could physically install an OS on it, with utils and etc. (getting something for it to work on is besides the point atm)
