Samsung B-Die memory

Are all Samsung B's the same? Does Samsung keep the best dies for itself or does it bin them to sell the best performers to it highest paying customers, the GSkills and Corsairs of the world?

Only reason I ask is that 2 x 8GB sticks of genuine Samsung memory modules with 8 1GB dies single sided manufactured in May landed on my desk this afternoon. They have no heatsinks, are rated at 2133 C14, no XMP programming and were sold for industrial / corporate usage. Worth a play with do you think?

Good question, I know Corsair advertise their Dominator range as prime hand picked cream of the crop grade A silicon so you could be right. And it would make sense also given the premium you pay for them too.

They were €94 ex Vat a stick (corporate pricing) and rated as highest quality by my suppliers supplier. Tbh I had gone off on one with my supplier over the quoted cost on Friday but was singing a different tune when I took them out of their anti-static bags this afternoon. I'll take them for a play tomorrow and see how I get on.

Some pics or it didn't happen

Proving remarkable resistant to going anywhere above stated speeds of 2133 so far :)
