Ryan Giggs

Am I the only person in Wales who doesn`t see his international retirement as a big thing ?

Now u may read that and think - ooo Giggs - but what a talent !

Indeed, but here`s the rant.

Am I the only person who can remember the years when he was argueably at his best, Wales needed like 1 or 2 wins to qualify for something for the 2nd time in my lifetime, and Giggs has a bad toe. Miss the Welsh game on the wednesday and play for the mancs on saturday. Following week the toe flares up, and later in the week he`s playing in an FA Cup game or something.

Arguably at the time, Hughes would play, Rushie, Saunders - but giggs would only seem to play when a game either meant nothing or it was San Marino at home.

What I`ve always said, after having this unarguable talent skip playing for his country year after year, was to forget about him. Don`t even select him. 5 or so years go by, the mass of striking talent (of which he could have complemented very very well) had all but retired, and he`s on the scene for a bit. Anything important for manu tho and he`s back out. Close title race = no-show.

They`re gonna spend the next week or so praising him in the press - I can see it now. Frankly the guy is a disgrace, imo.

Giving him captain is a disgrace to the nation tbh.

/end of rant.

Pretty intresting that Rasta :)

I'm a fan of Giggs, but really see where your coming from.

Compare his stats with Paul Scholes, who had a much shorter international career..

Giggs: 1991-2007 Wales 63 (12)

Scholes: 1997–2004 England 66 (14)

Still wouldn't mind if Harry picked him up on a free end of next season :p

I think Giggs days are nearly up.

Quality player, but I have noticed his performance go down hill recently

Didnt do well in the FA Cup Final, kept giving the ball away

Definately a quality player, there is no doubt about that.

But as a person he sucks imo.

I can see him staying at manu for a while, then retiring. ~Possibly~ go to another club, but I`d see his mentality similar to Keane`s in that fashion. Play a handful of games, go missing, then leave or summit.

He be better off staying at manu for as long as he can.

I`m looking at the years where Giggs used to tear teams apart. Bah wish he`d done a Michael Owen tbh.

totally overshadowed, overmanipulated and had his personality destroyed by "uncle Alex".

Sure he didn't go off the rails like some ManU prodigies, but he merely resembles a shell of the man that he might have been.

i dont see a problem. would you not put all your effort into something that everyone knows will be more successful and at the same time, get the chance to earn more money.

Eh ? U mean the club v country thing ?

Beckham`s about the same age, won less for club and country than Giggs. Never skipped england cos of a paper cut did he ? Made more money via a haircut tho. But Giggs isn`t good enough to sell razors ?
