Rumourmill on R600 scores

Clearly rumours - but a guy at OCWorkbench claims to have spoken to some integrators and this is what he got:

some people at CeBIT and was told that the scores of the upcoming AMD DX10 card X2900XT will come close to the following :

3Dmark05 - 17xxx

3Dmark06 - 11xxx

It is probably some predictions. We will know when we receive the cards for tests in the coming weeks.

I am guessing that these are based on stock X6800 system - how does this compare roughly to the G80 with a similar cpu?

So two things can be taken from this if it were true:

1) We have reached a cpu limit so the score will be the same

2) Even though the unit is clocked higher, with better ram and lower technode size than the G80 performance is in fact comparable.

I always wonder about these scores, so many unknowns, how tweaked the OS and drivers are, memory timings etc. Also one score doesnt tell you how the card scales with CPU clock.

A few weeks and we can finally find out, for the sake of competition i hope the R600 outperforms the G80. I also want to see the retail card and the cooler after all those OEM card pics.
