Routines

Hey guys,

So a bit of a random topic, specially from me, but since we're all humans and we all have different lives, with different jobs, families, times, routines etc... I thought it would be interesting to see how you manage to stay in your daily routines.

Perhaps you personally have experience with different routines, such as shifts at work? Working nights, to the next couple of days working days?. How do you guys keep it up?...

How do you guys who go to sleep at around maybe 22 and wake up at around 6-8?... And even go to take a morning job, such as Dicey for example?.

I've had for the past years a night habbit, one that I've strongly been trying to get out off... I even have a day job now, but still it's very hard to get out/rid off this night thing. Specially since I also have diabetes in the family and I have higher risk of getting it, due to I have the "gene" in the family. And nights can make that worse.

Such as tonight, I fell asleep for 2-3 hours, with music in my ears, which is dumb as hell, I admit... And then I couldn't fell asleep. So now been awake since about 04

So... I don't really know where I wanted to go with this thread to be honest... Mostly to just hear if you guys have any experience in breaking a bad habit/routine of some sort? Maybe such as mine above?...

After all... Maybe I'm just trying to ask for help/tips etc on how to break this bad night habbit of mine? Without being to stubborn and pride, not to admit asking for help from something that isn't that "well looked at" in society etc.
And going to bed around 22-23 and waking up at around 6-8, and go for a run, to get my condition up and get in shape etc.

Thanks,
Chrazey

My daily routine is the same almost every day now since I had quite a lifestyle change

wakeup: 5:45am
SSS: (s**t, shower, shave) and out the door by 6:30 for the gym for an hour
Head to work and do my regular 8-4pm in my office which often extends to 5pm.
4-5pm: head home and clean up any mess
6pm: cook food for the evening and also for lunch the next day
7pm: little gaming for a few hours
10pm-1am: random stuff with my GF ;) no need to say more.

Weekends I like to break habit but most of the time its mountain biking. Up until the snow hits Oslo. Then it will be a little more gaming, reading or warhammer 40k painting.

If I dont make it to the gym in the morning, then I will go there after work which is why it looks like an unaccounted hour between 5 and 6 :)

So you wake up at 5:45 and sometimes had random stuff with your gf to 1 am?... That's less than 6 hours sleep? How do you function?... 2 years ago, I didn't have a problem with it. But now a days, I feel like a cucumber if I sleep less than say like 8 hours?...

Generally I will follow this routine. But with little ones and a job where late nights/early mornings are sometimes required - I can not have a routine set in stone...

6am wake up, get ready for work.
7am-8am (varies depending on little ones being awake/asleep) head off to work.
1 hour commute
9am -6pm working the works.
1 hour commute back home
7pm-ish dinner
8-10pm - play with little ones, get them ready for bed (bath, brush teeth, change nappies, read book to them).
If i'm lucky at that point, I have the option of going to sleep. More often than not though, this happens:
10-11pm - assist the little ones with getting to sleep (oldest is only 18 months, so - it's early days yet).
11pm-mid-night - no longer sleepy. Maybe read for an hour or so.
between midnight and 2am: turn out the light and sleep.

So now you might be wondering, with a routine like that HOW THE HELL is he getting Project Blue Heaven (Formerly Project Red Light District) done? Answer: Simple: wife and kids are over-seas at the moment. They return on Sunday - so I have to get it complete before then! :p
