Router re-connects help pls

Broadback

New member
I am the proud owner of a Solwise SAR130 router, this has given me excellant service since first getting broadband. However, sadly, since joining Idnet I am getting frequent disconnects. The only way to reconnect seems to be an engineers reset! What router (not wireless) would the team reccomend that will do automatic retries, also will cope with the (hopefully) up and coming faster connections.:worship:

i have heard the linksys ones are good or you could see if someone like belkin make wired ones(ime not sure)

cheers.

My Netgear has been good to me :).

I run a Switch off it sometimes too, when I have a lot of comp's in the room.

24/7 there are a full 4 comp's on it. One 2 floors up, and 3 in here. I do lot's of downloading and even host a 10-Man 33-Tick CS Source server for my clan's Matches. Handles everything I throw at it, plus it's cheap.

Take a look here..

See if you can find it in UK or wherever you're located. :)

Good luck! Also, try a firmware flash before you buy a new one.

I have a Belkin and its very decent. Lifetime warranty and works fine: no problems :)

Yep :)

We used to have one... an 802.11G one :D.

It died after ~8 months of use so we RMA'ed it and got back a BRAND NEW one, and it's the new model too :p.

Still sitting in retail packaging, it's the Netgear's backup.

Wireless-N, it should be out soon. Im not EXACTLY sure how much better it is, but i do know that the "pre-N" stuff that is out now sucks

N is set to give faster than wired speeds over wireless. The current Pre-N stuff is no more than 802.11G using mutiple data channels, so not worth bothering with.. although TGH found the Netgear Rangemax 240 was able to provide 100mbp/s throughoutput, which isn't bad tbh.
