Very pretty, although I must ask, what's the difference between these and the Direct CU II models?

Matrix cards overclock a little bit better *Usually*, Are easier to use LN2 with and look flashier.

Pretty much a DCUII card with bling.

they just look very bulky.
seems like a pattern with manufacturer's with their high end models, the kingpin, the matrix, both look awful.

That wont stop people from buying them though, I wish they would bring back the ultra slim single slot GPU's from years ago i.e 8800GT, Now that to me was 1 sexy looking piece of tech.

So another ego card for gamers that think they need it, even though they don't do actual OC'ing, especially on LN2? ;D

i prefer small parts as well, matx is far more attractive to me than a 900d build.
i'd love to have a single slot card, but the one you posted looks like it's not going to run quiet or cool, so i suppose double slot is a nice combination of size and performance.

I don't know why they even produce these cards with air coolers, the first question that seems to come up with someone buying one of these cards is

"I wonder when waterblocks will be available"

Why don't manufacturers just ship them with decent waterblocks from day one.

Who in their right mind buys a Kingpin to run on air ? Vlad please don't reply.:D:cool:

I know that the card is aimed at running on LN2 but hardly anyone will do that either.

Asus need to do what EVGA do, Start making dedicated water cooled cards i.e Their hydro copper series.
Now that would push me into water cooling my GPU because when I buy a card I don't just buy it for it's performance I choose it based on looks aswell so I dont want to go taking it apart to put a waterblock on that doesn't look good, The waterblocks I've seen so far all look crap apart from the EVGA hydrocopper cards.

Cards are far better than DC2 but not my style.
I think R9-290X Matrix came with Elpida and GTX780Ti Matrix with Hynix memory.
That's far better news for people who want to wait instead to go with Poseidon.
But this card will be and 200-250e more probably. From other side I don't expect to R9-290X Matrix win over MSI R9-290X Lightening.
I'm glad because ASUS decide to pain in black this pipes if want to show them to customers and leave visible pipes near card.

I love so thin card as before too, that's graphic card, for this you can't say that, like some toy.
But it's progress compare to DC2, they are ugly as devil. All 5 years series, ugly boy near ugly boy.
I remember only when I touch GTX580DC2, how that card make bad sound of metal during touching and installation and how I need to hold them with PCI-E power cables to stay right in slot...
ACX Classified models as nearest to something nice as that one slot card but today water-cooling became necessary if you want really to enjoy because many people I know play games without side panel with all non reference cards. One slot card can't keep cool nothing more than GTX660...and for that is under question.

Well I like the look of that a lot, I dare say that's my favorite Asus built card of all time aesthetically. But still there's no way my next card isn't going underwater.

Wonder if they'll bring out a platinum version like they did with the 7970

Yeah and the 280X, what an absolute load of tripe that was, so many of them breaking it was laughable.

On a side note, unless this card can get rid of the TDP in LN2 mode like the Kingpin can then I don't see many of the extreme overclockers buying this card.

Also on the R9 290X matrix side, nobody has got over the whole power limit issue with those cards yet, so even with LN2 and all the volts in the world, nobody can get over around 1.35GHz without the damn things black screening which is a shame.
