RMA'ing when you bought from a different country

I bought some Dominator ram a couple of months back from USA.

I have had the ram in 3 different mobos - it has never run at its rated 1066mhz 5-5-5-15 timings... If I run at the rated Mhz and change the timings down to 5-5-5-15 then the pc won't post (this is at 2.2v with airflow fans on top) and I have to do a cmos reset...

I contacted Corsair and they said "If the RAM is not defective the Commando should be able to run the DDR Frequency at 1066MHZ"

Really? Thanks lol.

I'm not really sure how to progress this - do I say, the commando won't run it at its rated speed I want a refund/replacement? What if they say contact the retailer you purchased the ram from? I'm screwed then (etailer in USA, I live in UK)!?

Edit: Should I say it was a gift from someone in the UK - I don't have a receipt?

use corsairs online rma service.

i had a set of ram i got in a deal with a mobo from the us and they didnt ask for a receipt or anything.

i just did the online rma, they accepted and then sent me the adress to send the ram to(usa)

make sure you got original packaging tho, they will probly send out a new set, they did for me anyway.

cheers.

Corsair have a support forum it might be worth checking with Yellowbeard on there (US customer support rep) to see what he says. More than likely you'll have no problems :)
