Anyone out there playing Rift now?

Yup although not managed to play much this weekend, I'm only lvl 8 Defiant Marksman/Nightblade/Ranger on Quicksilver server.

Ahhhh... I forgot to specify I'm in US too. Yes... that ugly place. I've got two 13s on cruiga or something server... but not quicksilver. Sorry but with those levels invested I doubt I'll be migrating LOL! I probbly shoulda just kept my big mouth shut. I do Defiant too... I cannot stand even the idea of the Guardians, I mean, they must be horrifying at parties, all stuffy with rules, and complaints about people who don't use napkins, people who fart, and those with mismatched socks. Hope you have fun Icekube.

I have to admit, I'm having a wonderful time playing cleric/ with emphasis on dealing and absorbing dmg. Using dagger n shield, and managed to keep on my feet against a 3 lvl higher for a respectable bit of time... till my mana just poofed. Now just running around trying to find rifts, there's some legs I wanna buy with planar points. My only gripe is that its just not very social. Its more like Guild Wars in that respect, which is disappointing but not badly so since the rest of the game is well done.

Has anyone played earthrise? I know its off-topic but was just wondering. Looking to buy either rift or earthrise or both

if theyre good. Earthrise looks like mass effect combined with wow from the trailer just wanted to see if anyone recommends it or rift.

I played Rift for a while. Trion did a great job but I just couldn't get into it. I cancelled my subscription and am now anxiously awaiting for Guild Wars 2, Tera, SWTOR and The Secret World. 2011 should be a good year.

Same just cancelled mine. Ive played WoW for too long, so whilst other mmo's may look btr they just don't have the sleek, comfortable feel of WoW. I'm hoping they can do a gd job with GW's 2 because GW's is where I dipped my toes into mmo's. Having said this I cannot wait for Dark Millennium Online at the end of the year, I'm a massive 40k fan.

I can completely understand why you dropped it... each of us has a vision of the perfect kind of world/ environment/ gameplay. I have to admit I found GW a disappointment, it just had nothing social about it at all for me. Heck, WoW had more interaction between players then GW did. I still prefer Age of Conan, but I'll keep playing Rift till the redundant parts finally drive me away. LOL!!

Rift was a good game that would appeal very much to WoW players because its virtually indentical. However, there lies the problem for me. I played WoW for over 4 years, and I wan't something different.

GW2 is going to be very different than GW. It will be open world instead of instanced and you can say goodbye to those stupid capes that made everyone look the same.

I have been reading the GW2 novel and I love the story. So far it looks light years ahead of GW1.

Well, if they make those changes to GW2 it will only be a massive improvement. The instancing and such really made it impersonal and just a grind. Hope its good.
