Hey guys
I am thinking of using RFID for a new computing project, one which involves using RFID to manipulate certain areas of Microsoft Windows (such as login, program activation etc).
I was thinking of using chips much like the Philips HITAG 2048 S or an
EM4102 chip to basically start simple programs such as MSN Messenger, Outlook (with exchange server login), and other programs
you guys have any ideas what kind of reader I could use that would allow me to do this kinda thing, and also what sorta thing I'd need to do to program the reader to interface with the pc to do that for me.
I was looking at http://www.touchatag.com, however not only have they not bothered to respond to my questions with any sensible answer apart from "maybe in the future", but their tags are very low frequency and will not work with the 100kHz-150kHz range that the above chips would work on. And on top of that, they are an online ONLY service, meaning that unless you have net connection, you will not be able to use the tags (which is a bummer if you are in a gaming LAN and you haven't yet set up the net/if u wont have access to the web).
The project calls for chips that can possibly be implanted into clothing, embedded discreetly into phones/mice (pc ones, not live
) watches, and at the most extreme level: parts of the body if the user so wishes (typically hand or shoulder). for that reason, tags or cards cannot be used (hence why I cannot use the 13.56MHz range (as that (as far as i've seen) is only done for tags and cards (due to its low cost)).
If anyone has looked into this before, or has an interest in it, i'd love to work with yas or listen to your ideas.
