Retailers really cranking the price of the Venus...

The new SLI-DR Venus is going to be a limited production board, only 2000 made and will be highly sought after by extreme overclockers as it's likely to be the best of the best.

In this example here you're getting charged an arm and a leg for a shot at this fine piece of kit... I guess if you really want to take overclocking to the "final frontier" you step up to the plate and spend the money.

/me clicks "add to cart" and pulls out the credit card ;)

i was going to get one :( , are you going to even get one.

might just settle for the expert

IMO its just a marketing gimmik. I can think of plenty of other ways to spend that money on a GUARANTEED increase in performance.

Agreed!!! It's a quality board for the hardcore clocker, but I can't justify the price. Like XMS I'd be investing elsewhere :)

There must come to a price difference limit where you might as well put the money towards a faster processor or graphics card (unless you can afford the best already).

This is only one E-Tailer though... I hvae a feeling that we will see it for a good $200 less than what they have it listed for elsewhere.
