I'm back with a new piece of what I think is exciting news, especially for all us aging gamers, we thought we'd never see the day or that Capcom would actually listen... but they have! and it's about time too. We are getting a revisit to the original 1996 survival horror classic Resident Evil, now I know the PC port way back then was lets face it a real dogs dinner and the Gamecube remake in 2002 was a massive flop, but this as I think you'll agree looks awesome not just a slightly polished original but a complete overhaul to be released early in 2015 for PC, PS4 & XBone

So will this be added to your Steam library? I know it's going on mine, lights off with the headset on to relive those days of horror, searching for herbs, typewriter ribbons and hearing those haunting echoing footsteps.

Considering it's taken them 12 years to rip the engine apart and re-model, re-render and re-sample everything for release next year.. it's not "Simply a Port" in which we could just use an emulator and get the same experience.

i will be getting this. the GC version was the best version of res evil 1. you can say what you want. but it just was the best version.
the pc version.. well it was terrible.

hope to see resident evil zero make its way remastered to the pc soon after. and if me buying this will help that happen then yes i am buying it.

Probably took them 6 months instead of 12 years.
Get ready for remake wreckage, this ship is going down like every single one of them.
These remakes sell because of nostalgia.

I will definitely be getting this for PC Resident Evil is my favourite game Series, well 1+2+3 and Code Veronica X anyway 4+5+6 are not true RE games.
Those screenshots are only from the PS3 version and are only 720p. I'm looking forward to seeing the full 1080p screenshots from the PC version.

And of course the game will look even better on PC with a bit of downsampling and some added post processing from SweetFX.

I have a feeling Capcom are testing the waters to see if this release will be sucessfull before they do a RE2 or RE3 HD remake as well. Or hopefully they will take RE7 back to the survival horror roots.
