well i was repped for something and when i checked for what it was only 1 person and my reputation went up by 4 points not 1. is there a difference in the ammount of rep power and btw this was not a mod who repped me so it is not a special mod rep

Yes.. Rep Power is decided by a combination of the amount of posts and reps you have.

For example my rep power is 4, and this rep power is achieved with a combined post count of 1500 and reps of 200. If I had 1400 posts and 200 reps I would still have a rep power of 3

Mods all have rep powers of 5 at this current time..

Note: The numbers used above are estimates

Afaik limqareb, when you get over 200 rep points your rep power increases. So whoever repped you, would have over 200 rep points themselves, that narrows the field considerably

It's a combination of both.. Really I have no idea what the actual numbers are. Rep power also increases after a certain period of time as a member.. I think after 6 months you gain 1 rep power.
