"Remember Me"

I chose the option, "Remember Me", to remain logged in at all times (without having to reinput my username and password). However, I'm only recognized (automatically logged in) 1 out of every 5 times.

I never had this problem when I was using IE. I've only noticed this behavior with FireFox.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hrmmm, i've not had that problem and I use FF as my main browser.

There was a cookie issue on SX just after we switched to the new theme, but that should be resolved now.

Have you tried clearing your cookies and cache to see if that helps, as you may still be retaining some of the 'buggered' cookies

FF at home, I.E. at work and both are fine. I do have the "why don't you remember me?" problem at home with another site I visit.

FYI: clearing the cookies corrected the problem.

What cookies to I need to keep to be logged in after I restart my browser?

I've deleted all but the sysxtreme ones but I still have to log in again :(

clear all cookies but leave cookies on. You'll have to log in again once again and remember to tick "remember me" :)

I'm using cookie culler which clears all cookies on exit apart from protected ones. I protected all the sysxtreme but it still doesn't remeber me :( I'll have to do more fiddling tonight.

At my humble opinion, there is a security risk if u choose the option "remember me". If a guy take the control of your computer, your password is stored in a file (encrypted? not sure), then he could use your css account and password to play :damn: !

Personnaly, i prefer to never use this kind of options :nopitty; .

Homer's advice of the day ;)

lets play a game, everybody make a ppint as to why this point is not valid

number 1: im not stupid enough to use the same pw to everything, cs is unique, so is this forum.

number 2: yes it is encrypted, if u can hack it, ill shake ur hand

number 3: the password isnt stored in the cookie, the cookie just tells vbulletin to show you as logged in.

As Dave said, no password is stored on your PC for this forum. The cookie simply tells the forum when you last logged in successfully, the IP you last logged in from...etc

Your password is encrypted during transmission to the OC3D servers via MD5 and a salt and is stored in a PHP session, which is only available to the server.
